class act
the lovely ms. peaches geldof broke fashion history when she twittered about Courtney Love's new fashion line.
set to produce pieces like, cashmere harem pants (uh huh...) and cotton bodysuits (because i think lululemon is running out of those), the line will be...well, interesting. to say the least.
if nothing else, this should be entertaining. stay tuned folks.
classy.

i miss you
“ Missing someone isn’t about how long it has been since you have seen them
or the amount of time since you’ve talked.
It’s about that very moment when you’re doing something and you wish that they were right there
with you. ”

the top is pretty lovely. you can't see it in the pictures, but its pretty see-through, but the perfect amount of see-through so it's not trollopy.

crap.
i dropped my camera out of a tree. don't ask why it was in a tree.
but it means i won't be able to take any outfit photos until i can save up enough money to buy a new one. sorry in advance that this blog might be epically boring until i get back on track.
in other news, this is officially my 101st blog post. woo!
love you all. have a fabulous weekend!

my new victoria beckham jeans are one size too small.
i refuse to accept this, so i'm sleeping in them, hoping that i can stretch them out.
it never ceases to amaze me how far i'll go for the sake of fashion.

trailor trash
i was so excited about this that i had to come home and blog about it right away. you know when you go shopping, and somedays you find nothing, but other days you find everything?
well, i went to winners today and ended up becomming the proud owner of a beautiful cream faux leather jacket, with zippers every which way ($38/clearance), the perfect pair of sailor jeans with buttons on the front ($16/clearance), and a pair of jeans from victoria beckhams line, that usually retail for almost $200 (ha! i got them for $29.00!)
unfortunately, i'm not feeling overly photogenic today, but here's some pictures anyway.
xx!

and thanks so much to everyone who entered. i love all my readers, with every ounce of my blogging heart. you guys keep this thing rockin', and i couldn't do it without you!

inspiration is overrated anyway.
“My god, no more of this. No more of this uncertain cry for something more, just fucking do something. Like that moment earlier this afternoon, watching the sudden downpour from the safety of a shoe store, and then deciding to fuck it, walk outside and in the time of those two seconds becoming horribly drenched, wet everywhere and laughing laughing as I duck into the McDonalds one door over, catching the eye of an Asian woman, disapproval evident in her empty expression but inside I’m delighted, still, for misunderstanding nature, for misunderstanding the rain but it’s just not practical then to run outside and dance in the downpour, without an umbrella but with my purse heavy with my cameras and books and technology and empty words.
No more of this grabbing at empty lines and sentiments and sentimentality. Needing “inspiration.” This isn’t about inspiration, this isn’t about waiting for the right moment or the right time but jumping into the rain wet and cold and unexpected fast in rivers on bare skin and soaking through cotton. This is impulsive and elation and freedom and the thrill and life delicious on my tongue like unexpected orange bites in dark chocolate, like green tea scented soap or silk covers against skin flushed from a shower, against unrealistic expectations and desires that clench at thin air, that should be transformed into nothing more than life and life itself.”

...and the hazy sea
these smiley-face pictures don't really fit with my mood. i've actually been feeling very uninspired these days. i guess i just have a lot on my mind. things get scary when you have to worry about real-life problems.
anyway, it is hard to be feeling burdened with life when you live where i do. i'm surrounded by huge, beautiful lakes and mountains and it makes it hard to feel like your problems actually matter, but everything will be okay. it has to be.
enough for now.
goodnight.

lookbook!
woop woop!!!
you're looking at the newest member of lookbook.nu, an exclusive site featuring some of the best of the best fashion bloggers in the buisness.
check me out here!
(since i'm a brand new lookbook baby, i only have one outfit post up. keep checking back for more updates!)
(contest ends in 5days and 2.5hours.
what are you waiting for?!!?)
hello, goodbye, hello again.
in the '50's, polka-dots were introduced and any housewife worth her cheesecake wore them religiously. eventually, these dotted garmets became passe, like any fashion crazy. the '60's, '70's, '80's, and '90's were a jumble of boho-chick, electric althetica, and, my personal favorite, grunge.
it wasn't until the early 21st century that polka-dots came back. in my opinion, they weren't treated with as much class and dignity as in previous eras and quickly became the epitome of tacky.
ugh, this is exactly why polka-dots became tacky. image courtesy of notmytribe.com
but, like everything else, polka-dots are back, ladies. i never thought i'd see the day, especially because i am completely anti-dot. however, excuse me while i eat my words, since i now own three things covered in these previously hideous round circles. in my defense, all of these pieces have a throwback-retro vibe, so i guess they're really not that bad, as long as they are done tastefully.
this is how to do polk-dots today, with mixed colours and prints, lots of layering, while channeling your inner pin-up girl. image courtesy of mediaonsugar.com
i guess my point is, don't ever throw anything away. you never know when you'll need to whip out that orange angora cable-knit poncho!
xx
(p.s. don't forget about the giveaway, where you can win an awesome peacock feather necklace, just by commenting on this post. easy as pie! contest closes in 6 days!!!!)
goodnight moon
this is every reason why you should not have cupcakes right before bed.

GUNBARREL GIVEAWAY!
woo hoo!!!
i love free things, and i love giving away free things to free people, and nobody is more deserving than my readers. you ladies are beyond awesome!
i'm stealing little gracie's contest rules (because i'm too unimaginative right now to think of my own) but here's how it works:
1) to be eligible, you MUST be a follower of mine. if you are not, click the handy button on the top of this page that says "follow this blog"
2) start commenting on any post after, and including this one!!! the more you comment, the more entries you get into the raffle. ex. if you make 6 comments, you get 6 entries.
simple simple.
3) winner will be drawn at random on Tuesday, June 16th
(ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!!! yea yea!)
but wait, what the HECK are you entering to win??????
WELL, the winner will receive this entirely handmade and one-of-a-kind peacock feather necklace from my jewelry collection, vin.tage. since it's all crafted by my pink-painted fingers, it carries a pretty hefty retail value, so it would probably be way more awesome to win it instead.
good luck to all of you!
love love love and cupcakes and stuff,
hayley xx
p.s. so, the picture is a little misleading. the small feather (on the very left) actually hangs down the wearer's back (way cooler). the feathers are really ruffly and light in the wind and look sa-weeeet when walking down the boardwalk!
tuesday.
i don't see why it is not perfectly acceptable to wear a tutu and a bra as an outfit.
...just sayin'...
oops! i forgot the source of this photo. but it belongs to someone, i promise!
dawn of the new era
went to the playground yesterday, just when the sun was setting and everything was beautifully illuminated. this graffiti wall totally deserved a high five.
love you all.
ps. inspired by the lovely gracie over at squarectomy, i'm striking up a contest in the near future. stay tuned!
